Well - not bullshitting you at all. The #1 MFM was a statement - a graffiti on a wall claiming territory and marking the existence of MFM. Glad if you read it. If not, you can do it here. Let’s dive in the actual business without longer ado.
Let me give you some insight on how I operate and do things. What’s my angle?
First of all - a lot of my initial research comes from Good Unicorns - go read it - spectacular work by Diana Tsai. Good Unicorns is a series of interviews with CEOs on a mission to create impact.
I also use GPT4 for analysis and research - of course, you can't take the information there for granted and have to double check it, but it saves a shit-ton of time. I ask questions, ask for analysis, ask for anything really.
So this is what I do while absorbing information from the sources:
Have my notes open on the side;
Write down all the key takeaways;
Jot down my thoughts and find core principles I resonate with.
This helps me gain perspective and provides information on the ways how other people are creating impact on scale - what is their perspective and HOW it’s done in business. How to use capitalism as a good tool for achieving a certain goal.
Reminds me of the core “why” and to remind you, my “why” is to plant a seed for positive impact. It’s also providing me with simple principles of business and taking action. Broadens, reminds and develops my angle at the same time.
What I’ve realised is that to create positive impact / movement on a scale, I have to help as many people as I can - be a guiding light and help people find a pathway to creating positive change. This does not mean that I’m trying to raise a whole generation of Elon Musk’s, but rather help people break the survival loop so they could have mind space to think about how each of them could contribute in a positive way on a micro scale with day to day actions. Or if they don’t want to contribute, that’s fine as well.
What’s the loop? Good question.
The problem is that while we are in survival mode, we are doing anything to survive. ANYTHING. This course of action does not let the mind think about anything else - impact, change, love, esteem, potential etc that’s out there. The people who are talking about environmental issues or anything else that impacts the world and humanity on a big scale, these are people whose needs are satisfied, BUT NOT people in survival mode. They just do not give a fuck and it’s ignorant to think, that they should care. They should not. They should care only for themselves, because they can not afford to think about those issues.
As one gets out of survival mode and to the creative mode, one can actually think about what one wants to be. A whole other set of very real problems. Problems that actually contribute and create something in this world.
So my goal is to find a way to help people break the loop. And to help people to survive means that they simply need an extra push - that missing amount of money that could be exchanged for resources they’d need to survive.
So how to do this? How to create extra income for low-income families who are in survival mode? How to break the loop for them and help them jump to the next level?
Want to know what having some extra options does to people? I’m at Dublin Airport’s Business Lounge at the time of writing this article. The servant lady goes past and collects the dishes and trash - every single one of them greets with a “good morning” and wishes her well. Everyone here is seemingly happy - at least on a level where they are not fucking pricks to each other. Dropping an ear on random conversations - they are talking about things that matter - relationships, impact, goals etc. Deep conversations. Everyone should have this. This should be BASIC LEVEL for everyone, not only for selected. But this needs work from each party. Easy for me to say and observe while snacking on all this free fucking cheese here.
But this is what I’ll be looking into. I have a hunch, but will write about it in the next MFM series. I’ll be diving deep into Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs and provide you with insights from there.
If you want to contribute to my thoughts or challenge me to think in new ways or really, anything - just write it down and hit that fucking “send” button. Anyone and anything can help. Don’t be afraid. I’m not.
Thank you for reading!
