Im my last #02 MFM I was talking about loops I want to break. Read about the loops here. To remind you - I would like to help people break out of survival mode and enable creative mode for them so they would be able to live and contribute, possibly serve.
Ok - enough reminders and other BS. I thought of coming back to the pyramid of needs to break the loop, so... Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs.
I’m not going to dive too deep into it and make it short. There are deficiency needs (D-needs) and growth/being needs (B-needs) and my interest would lay in helping people transition from D needs to B needs.
Why? Don’t take me for a conspiracy theorist now, but to gamify this a bit - the game is rigged. We do not have the same starting point in this game of life and we are dealt different cards - not equal opportunities. I would like to level this a bit. So to level the game, I want to find a solution this D to B problem. Doing this, I can create equal opportunities for everyone to start leaning into this game of life and seek for our own path. Ofc - I can not create this for EVERYONE, I can only do my part and contribute a bit. I can’t fix the whole world nor can I help those who don’t want help.
What’s interesting is that we do not need 100% in Maslow’s to jump the level / do the transition and the needs start to emerge a bit before we’re at 100% on some level. So I might be at 60% at D-needs and start thinking about B-needs already. So what is the metric for my success? I think there is no definite answer to this philosophically. Just have to believe in it... In business? Ofc - return on dollar invested.
So, on the left hand we have D-needs to be satisfied, and on the right hand we have capitalism where everything is optimized for efficiency. How can those two compliment each other opposed to being toxic?
There are many factors that come into play when it comes to solving this question but as for me, being a rather tech-savvy early adopter, I consider two factors: politics and technology.
There is one good way to spread out all the resources between humans - communism / socialism. But this does not work in my eyes. Might work for some but pure communism / socialism is not the way to go, I think... This has to be done with good capitalism.
Turning to the emerging era of AI, we may eventually see a blend or cooperative combination of capitalism and socialism, where capitalism drives innovation and wealth creation, while socialism ensures that basic needs are met for everyone, including those participating in the capitalist system as employees.
This should exist already today but there is no good balance between the two worlds. There are always cases of extremes. So how to balance out extremes? Where can we optimize? Is it so hard to get D-needs covered and everyone working for B-needs? Fuck, we have enough to provide for everyone, don’t we?
Relying on my current knowledge, I think that this kind of mixed economy would be a solution. This might change as I obtain more information and my opinions mature but I think this is a good starting point.
In the next one I’ll be sharing more on the mixed economy topic.
If you want to contribute to my thoughts or challenge me to think in new ways or really, anything - just write it down and hit that fucking “send” button. Anyone and anything can help. Don’t be afraid. I’m not.
